Have you ever heard yourself say, life is hard? Life was never designed to be a smooth ride. No matter who you are, what you are, there are going to be massive bumps along the way; bumps that will throw you off your game and send you spiraling down to the bottom.
If you are the ‘glass half empty’ kind of a person, chances are you’ll grow accustomed to dwelling at the bottom and sailing through life with least resistance. But if you are the kind of person who aspires to reach the stars, you’ll take a gulp from that half filled glass and climb back up to the place where you wish to belong.
The only difference between a bottom dweller and a climber is the ability to seek light even in the darkest of times, to find positivity in the direst of situations. In each of us lives the bottom dweller and the climber, you have the choice to empower the one that will serve you best. All you need to do is focus in the right direction in order to change your life for the better.
Most people tend to overlook the power of positive thinking. It is not something that should be neglected. By letting positivity manifest your life, you can accomplish the impossible. So to get started, here are a few tips that help me sail through a tough day:
Start the day with an uplifting statement
The moment you open your eyes, instead of letting your mind get clogged with all the worries, start the day with an uplifting statement. This is something that’s usually under your control. So by putting in just a little effort to appreciate something around you or just by talking to yourself in the mirror and telling yourself ‘it’s going to be a great day,’ you’ll set the mood for the day. So give it a shot. Let’s start by saying today is going to be AWESOME.
Find humor in bad situations
The best memories are the ones that will be the source of joy in the future. So do not let bad memories get the best of you. There is always a humorous side to every bad situation. Which side you look at seldom changes the reality but gives you a perspective worth remembering. Let those funny elements define those moments so that you can derive a little happiness out of it instead of only focusing on the downside. The question you need to ask yourself is, what is the story you are interested in telling?
Focus on the present
The present doesn’t mean today. It means this precise moment you’re reading this. You tend to focus so much on the past that you miss out on living in the present. What has happened cannot be changed, so why ruin the present with contemplation. When things get hard for me, I always tell myself: one step at a time. That’s all you need to focus on. So let’s take all the affirmative learning from it and implement them so you don’t put yourself in that situation again.
Surround yourself with the right set of people
The volume of positivity in your life will determine how happy you will be. Having people who reinforce positivity will affect your own line of thinking. Finding positive people to fill your life wouldn’t be easy, but you need to eliminate the negativity in life before it consumes you.
Almost anybody in any situation can apply these lessons to their own lives and see it flourish. As you might imagine, positive thinking offers promising returns, so the more often you practice it, the greater benefits you’ll yield.
Here are my 2 cents to your life. Let’s get busy cracking it. After all, it’s one life that we get. Let’s make it count.
